My name is José Miguel, 40 y.o., I am a Technician in Telecommunications. Fan of fire&rescue vehicles (airports, cities, and industrial zones) I live in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, capital city of Gran Canaria Island, a very beautiful place with sun, very good beaches and tourism.

Gran Canaria Island International Airport Fire Service is a I.C.A.O. requirements 8 Category. Provide a 24 hour, 7 day a week operation, with a minimun of 7 firefighters on duty at all time.

The Fire Station is situated on the southside of the airport near start Runway 03-l. The station has 5 crashtruck, one Fire Chief vehicle, four auxiliary vehicles and two emergency&rescue equipe trailers.

Number of Runways - Two parallel Runways, 3.100 m.x 45 m. (210 m. distance between both)
Altitude - 23 m. above sea level.

This Airport is one of the more safe Airports around the world.
